Mission Texas
This summer, a group of 15 high school students, young adults, and chaperones from Our Lady Star of the Sea, St. René Goupil, and St. Jane Frances de Chantal will journey from Metro Detroit to Houston, Texas for a mission rooted in faith, service, and community.
From June 15–30, we will partner with students from Strake Jesuit to serve those in need through hands-on service, evangelization, and encounters that bring the love of Christ to life. What makes this mission unique is the journey itself—along the way, we will stop in every state we pass through, completing service projects in a total of 13 states.
Our work will include serving at places like Elevate Branson, Wheeler Mission, Gulf Park Estates St. Andrews Fire Department and Effingham Public Library, along with other outreach opportunities that allow us to meet people where they are and serve with compassion.
While this trip is centered on service, it is also about building community and growing in faith. Through shared experiences—whether serving others, attending a Texas Rangers game, visiting Galveston Beach, or gathering each night for prayer and reflection in our retreat house—we are becoming a stronger, faith-filled community.
We invite you to be part of this mission. Your support helps make this journey possible and allows us to serve generously, travel safely, and grow deeper in our faith. Together, we can bring Christ’s love far beyond Metro Detroit—one state, one encounter, and one act of service at a time.
