"O Come Let Us Adore Him"
As we transition from Ordinary Time, or the season of ordered daily living, the Church invites us to turn our hearts and minds to a season of anticipation and new beginnings, of Advent and Christmas. Our Lord Jesus comes to us as a baby, so small and vulnerable. We see of the stillness of a baby asleep, and we are drawn into their peace and captivated by their beauty. If the Lord is revealing something important to us through his birth, perhaps this coming season has something to do with being small, simple, still, doing less and having the work of God in our hearts?
We want to explore this possibility together as a parish, so we have chosen the theme “O come let us adore him” to begin our exploration during Advent and throughout the new liturgical year. Therefore, we’ll anticipate the Lord’s “coming” and the significance or role of adoring in our life.
