Vocations

What is a vocation in the Catholic Church?

Deriving from the Latin word meaning “to call” a vocation is just that--a calling. We cannot call ourselves, the one doing the calling has to be someone else. This person who calls us is God himself. It is a calling wherein God is extending an invitation to us that we have the privilege of answering.

Our vocation will fit us flawlessly, but in order to hear it we need to learn how to tune out the competing voices calling out for our attention.

There are many vocations: single life, marriage, and religious life. Check out the links on the side for more information on discerning your vocation.
